Gaoussou Diakite, FC Red Bull Salzburg loanee, received the award as best Malian young talent at the Mali Football Awards 2025/26. The forward scored 18 points during his time in Switzerland. He also made his debut for the Malian national team in the fall and made his first appearances at the African Cup in January. Diakite moved to Salzburg in January 2024 from Mali and initially played 34 games (13 goals) for our partner club FC Liefering and one game for our UEFA Youth League team before loaning out his shoes to Switzerland for the 2025/26 season. We are eagerly waiting to see what the 2026/27 season will bring for our young player.
